ATEL Wins Excellence in Workplace Health and Safety

ATEL Wins Excellence in Workplace Health and Safety

Apprentices Trainees Employment Ltd, your local recruitment company, took home the Excellence in Workplace Health and Safety award at The 2017 Thomas Bros Golden Crow Awards on Saturday.

Thomas Bros Golden Crow Awards, which is a 31 year tradition, recognises and celebrates business excellence in the Wagga Wagga region. This year’s awards ceremony took place at a gala dinner at the RSL Club in Wagga Wagga on Saturday, 27 May.

ATEL beat off stiff competition to claim the prestigious award, which was presented by Mark Barber, Team Coordinator, from SafeWork NSW.

Peter Smilie, ATELs Work Health and Safety Manager, said:

“Winning this award is a direct result of a dedicated team that take pride in what they do and how they ensure all of our workers, from young trainees and apprentices through to older labour hire employees, are not only placed in a safe work environment, but are constantly encouraged and supported to work safely in their work environments. It is also a direct reflection of the close and strong ties we build in conjunction with our host employers to help them provide safe work place for our employees too.”

ATEL is about people and productivity, not profit. For over 30 years we have remained firmly grounded as a non-profit organisation dedicated to building strong and safe workforces.

On collecting the award, Cathy LeCerf, Mentor at ATEL, said:

“We’re delighted to win the Excellence in Workplace Health and Safety Award, and I want to thank our entire team for their continued commitment to our health and safety values, which are a key part of our identity as a business. A special thanks to SafeWork NSW for sponsoring the award and congratulations to everyone who won awards, or were shortlisted. And a huge thanks to everyone who worked on the Crow Awards for a brilliant night!”
