From your first day on the job you are supported by an ATEL staff member (Field Officer) whose job is to care for your welfare and to advocate for you in the workplace. They are your mentor and friend! You can contact them at any time to help with any pay, work, safety or training issue. ATEL employs qualified safety officers who work with your host employer to make your workplace safer. Wages
As an apprentice or trainee you are entitled to receive wages, allowances and working conditions set by an industrial award. As you complete each year of your apprenticeship your pay increases to the next year level.
As an ATEL apprentice or trainee:

Government Financial Support
In addition to your wages the Government provides substantial financial assistance to eligible apprentices and trainees.

- We help you complete the claim forms and make your claims!
- We ensure you get all payments you are entitled to!
ATEL Support Staff
As an ATEL apprentice or trainee you will be allocated your own Field Officer to assist you settle in to your host employer. They will make sure your training is organised, that you have appropriate protective clothing and that you understand what is expected of you as an apprentice or trainee. Importantly your Field Officer will make sure you are paid what you should be paid, every week, on time.
Your Field Officer will make sure that your training is appropriate, will assist with enrolment and arrange payment of your TAFE fees. They will track your performance in conjunction with your host employer and the TAFE or Training provider. If you need assistance at work or TAFE your ATEL Field Officer will arrange it for you.
ATEL employs a Payroll team to ensure your pay is processed and reaches your bank account on time every week. The payroll team will assist you with timesheet preparation, pay queries or leave entitlements.
Your Safety at Work
ATEL cares for the safety of all its employees. We employ full-time qualified Occupational Health and Safety experts to assist you stay safe at work. When you are placed with an ATEL host employer our safety experts will ensure that your workplace is a safe environment. They will work co-operatively with your host employer to ensure you continue to work in a safe manner. Should you have an accident at work they will investigate and provide you with support, ensuring you are back at work as quickly as possible.
Employment Safety Net
ATEL wants all of our apprentices and trainees to be successful! Completion of your apprenticeship or traineeship so you can enjoy a successful career is our company goal. Unfortunately apprentices and trainees can and do lose their jobs! This can be personally devastating and without support a new job in your trade can be difficult to find.
An ATEL apprentice or trainee has the support of a large employment company with job search facilities and resources to ensure you have the best chance of continuing your apprenticeship or traineeship. Should your host employer not be able to provide you with ongoing employment ATEL’s team of Field Officers, telemarketers and recruiters will seek a new placement with another host employer.
