The atel lease system or "group training"

The ATEL lease system or "Group Training"

When you hire an ATEL apprentice or trainee you are joining the thousands of host employers across the country who have adopted the Group Training system.

What is Group Training?

Group Training is an easy and cost effective way to take on apprentices and trainees. With Group Training you get all the advantages of carefully selected apprentices and trainees, short or long-term, without the hassle of paperwork and payroll.

Group Training Organisations employ apprentices and trainees and then place them with you for as long as you need them. They take care of the paperwork for wages, allowances, workers compensation, superannuation etc and are there throughout the period of the apprenticeship or traineeship to make sure everything runs smoothly.

The national network of over 150 Group Training Organisations around Australia now employs over 40,000 apprentices and trainees – it’s the largest employer of apprentices and trainees in Australia. Well over 35,000 businesses use Group Training for their apprentices and trainees. ATEL is one of the original Group Training companies created in 1982 as the government’s response to skills shortage in the late 70’s and employs over 650 apprentices and trainees across NE-Victoria, Southern NSW, and now Sydney.

Group Training Organisations should comply with National Standards set by Federal and State Vocational Education and Training Ministers to ensure that they provide a quality group training service. ATEL is registered with both Victoria and NSW Governments and meets the requirements of the National Standards.

Who can use Group Training?

Any business can use Group Training to employ their apprentices or trainees because Group Training Organisations are active in just about every industry – from the traditional trades through to community, personal and business services. ATEL currently has over 350 host employers employing over 500 apprentices and trainees in regional Victoria and NSW.
