Supporting your apprentice or trainee
We select apprentices/trainees to suit your requirements, covering all trades, businesses and professional areas. We advertise, interview, test and short list applicants. You make the final choice.
We arrange training to suit your business requirements and monitor the progress of your apprentice/trainee. You may choose to have all training delivered at your workplace or choose a training institution for off-site training. You may choose ATEL's registered training division or another training provider. The choice is yours.
You may lease the apprentice/trainee for the time you need them - from six months to four years. You may terminate the lease at any time without obligation or penalty. You can also Job Share an apprentice - this is where an apprentice works at 2 or more host employers. Can be a cost effective option during slow or uncertain economic periods, and allows the apprentice to continue his or her apprenticeship whilst gaining experience with different host employers. Ask us how Job Sharing an apprentice can work for you.
Another option for employers is the school based part-time apprenticeship or traineeship. Apprentices/trainees on this program undertake a combination of paid employment and secondary school, whilst accruing bonus points towards their VCE/HSC results.
We meet all legal and contractual obligations associated with the employment of staff.
We pay your apprentice/trainee on a weekly basis. This means no lost time for you in calculating weekly wages and leave entitlements. We issue itemised weekly accounts and monthly statements to your business. We calculate and provide an annual Group Certificate for each apprentice or trainee.
We deal with these time consuming and difficult Government charges allowing you to get on with the job of running your business.
After a comprehensive recruitment process our experienced Field Officers ensure your apprentice or trainee is given an initial induction, is given the correct information on where and when to start work, and arranges training at either a TAFE or a Registered Training Organisation. Throughout the duration of the apprentice’s or trainees tenure the Field Officer will conduct regular visits to ensure he or she is progressing both on the job in the workplace, and with their training. You will have the opportunity to discuss any issues that need to be addressed at regular Performance Appraisals. Your Field Officer is essentially your ATEL point of contact for everything.
